A dramatic scene unfolded in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, when a man climbed a 33KV high-tension electricity pole.

The man demanded the resignation of President Bola Tinubu before he comes down.

Cyber Reporters gathered that the incident occurred between Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28.

The man remained perched on the pole, refusing to descend until his demands were met.

His protest caused a stir in the area, particularly since it happened on a market day.

The authorities quickly responded to prevent any potential harm to the individual or others.

It was gathered that the Adamawa State Police Command sprang into action, working to persuade the man to come down peacefully.

After nearly two days of negotiations, local authorities finally convinced him to descend from the pole on Saturday night.

Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguruje, confirmed the arrest, stating that the man would be paraded and charged to court.

According to Nguruje, attempting suicide is a criminal offense under Nigeria’s constitution, and the police have a duty to protect lives and property.
