The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the sudden passing of Patience Umo Eno, wife of Governor Umo Eno.
According to the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, she died peacefully in the hospital on September 26, 2024, after battling an undisclosed illness.
The family has released a statement, tagged “Unexpected Sunset,” expressing their deep grief and submission to God’s will.
They kindly request prayers and support during this challenging time and ask for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Governor Umo Eno has expressed gratitude to those who have stood by the family and assures the citizens of Akwa Ibom that his commitment to serving the state remains unwavering despite this personal loss.
The statement reads: “It is with heavy hearts that we (Akwa Ibom Government) announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno, following an illness.
She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family. The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time.
Further details will be provided by the family as necessary. In the meantime, the family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
