Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has vowed to spearhead a corruption-free judiciary.

Justice Kekere-Ekun emphasized the importance of integrity and strictness in her judicial philosophy.

During her Senate screening, Justice Kekere-Ekun assured lawmakers of her commitment to expediting the resolution of pending petitions and safeguarding the judiciary’s independence.

Kekere-Ekun also underscored the need for robust national institutions and a culturally ingrained sense of civic responsibility, particularly during electoral processes.

As she navigates the confirmation process, Kekere-Ekun’s dedication to enhancing the welfare and infrastructure of the judiciary has garnered attention.

Her historic appointment as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, following President Bola Tinubu’s swearing-in on August 23, 2024, marks a significant milestone in her illustrious career.

Kekere-Ekun’s pledge to restore trust and efficiency in the judiciary resonates deeply, building upon her distinguished service as Chairman of the Robbery and Firearms Tribunal and later as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
