Tito Jackson, a founding member of the iconic Jackson 5 and brother of the late Michael Jackson, has passed away at 70.
Tito was a key figure in creating timeless hits like “ABC” and “I Want You Back.”
On Monday, his sons announced his passing on Instagram, but the cause of death remains unknown.
This loss marks another sorrowful moment for the Jackson family, who are mourning the loss of a beloved member of their musical heritage.
Tito’s musical legacy is immense, having performed alongside his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael.
The Jackson family has faced tragedy before, with Michael’s passing in 2009. Now, they must come to terms with the loss of another cherished member.
Steve Manning, a close friend and former manager who confirmed Tito’s passing stated that he died on Monday.
Tito’s sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson – who formed the R&B/pop trio 3T in the 1990s – expressed their heartbreak in a poignant Instagram post, honoring their father’s memory and musical impact.
They wrote, “We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken.
“Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being.”
“He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us.
“Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another’. We love you Pops.”
