The Dangote Refinery has made a significant announcement regarding the loading of Premium Motor Spirit, petrol, at its facility.

In a video posted on its official X account on Sunday, the Dangote Group revealed that the first set of trucks is ready to load petrol.

The company’s statement read, “HAPPENING NOW: First set of trucks set for loading of PMS at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.”

This development comes after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, announced on Saturday that over 300 trucks had arrived at the Dangote Refinery to load petrol.

This marks the first time in years that locally produced petrol will be loaded in Nigeria, a significant milestone for the country’s oil industry.

Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, confirmed that all agreements had been made for NNPCL to lift petrol from the Dangote Refinery.

Petroleum marketers have expressed optimism that the commencement of petrol distribution from the Dangote Refinery will bring an end to fuel scarcity and eventually lead to a reduction in prices.
