American actress and singer, Jennifer Lopez, famously known as J.Lo, has offiially filed for divorce from her husband, Ben Affleck, after two years of marriage.
Reports say Lopez filed for the divorce on Tuesday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court after living separately for a couple of months.
According to the reports, the divorce papers listed Lopez and Affleck date of separation as 26 April 2024.
The couple, whose romance dates back to the early 2000s, legally tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.
Lopez and Affleck first saw each other in 2001 while filming Gigli, in which they portrayed criminals stuck on a job together.
Their off-screen friendship slowly blossomed into a romance that attracted significant media attention, with tabloids dubbing them “Bennifer.”
By November 2002, the lovebirds were engaged, but their relationship soon cooled which led to the planned wedding getting postponed.
The wedding was later set for September 2003, and eventually, they split four months later.
Both had moved on with their lives with Lopez getting married to singer Marc Anthony in 2004, and Affleck tying the knot with actress Jennifer Garner in 2005.
However, the couple fell in love again and were spotted together in April 2021 and became engaged a year later.
This was the fourth marriage of 55-year-old Lopez, and the second for 52-year-old Oscar-winning actor and director Affleck, 52.
Lopez was first married to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa from 1997-1998; then her former back-up dancer Cris Judd from 2001-2003; and to singer Marc Anthony, with whom she had twins, from 2004-2014.
