Despite the internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has sworn to remain in the party and fight it out.

Wike firmly made the vow while speaking at a media parley on Wednesday, marking his first anniversary as a minister.

The FCT minister said: “I don’t run away from any fight. I will stay and fight it out. Who am I going to run from? The vampires? I cannot do that!”

Wike’s outburst comes as a result of speculations that he may exit the PDP due to internal conflicts, particularly those aimed at targeting him.

The former Rivers State governor has consistently affirmed his commitment to his principles, even if it means standing alone.

When asked if he might leave the PDP, Wike replied, “Anyone who knows me knows if I wanted to join the APC, I would do it openly.

“I’ve never hidden my stance, and I won’t start now. Integrity is very important.”

Wike stressed his commitment to principles, declaring that PDP won in Rivers State because he stood his ground.

This comes less than 24 hours after former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, called on PDP National Chairman, Iliya Damagun, to oust Wike from the party.

Clerk in an open letter, accused Wike of using his influence with President Bola Tinubu to intimidate Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the PDP.
