The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo has scheduled the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from August 22 to 30.

Timidi Wariowei, INEC’s Head of the Department, of Voter Education and Publicity, verified this in a statement released on Friday in Benin.

Wariowei stated that a five-day collection of PVCs will take place at the ward headquarters from August 22 to 26.

He stated that the exercise would be moved to the INEC Local Government Council headquarters for a further three days, from August 28 to August 30.

“The commission implores all those who registered or did transfers to present themselves at the aforementioned locations and collect their PVCs.

“There is no PVC collection by proxy,”

A coalition of INEC-accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), under the platform of the Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness, issued a stern warning on Friday to politicians and security operatives against actions that could undermine democracy as the Edo gubernatorial election approaches
