Kidnapped Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba , and his wife have regained freedom after spending a day in the kidnappers den.

Details of the release are not clear yet, but reports say they were released on Saturday night.

Cyber Reporters reported that some gunmen had on Friday, kidnapped the commissioner, alongside his wife, at an undisclosed location along the Edo-Kogi Expressway.

The couple were on their way to Abuja to attend the wedding of Adaora, the daughter of the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, which took place on Saturday.

It was gathered that they were travelling in a commercial Toyota Sienna bus with other passengers.

One of the commissioner’s aides, who was also on the journey with him, was killed in the process.

The state government has yet to make an official statement on the development.
