The National Judicial Council, NJC has recommended Justice Kudirat Motonmori Kekere-Ekun to President Bola Tinubu for appointment as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.
The nomination was made at its 106th meeting presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola held on August 14 and 15.
Justice Ariwoola is to formally bow out of office on August 22 and Justice Kekere-Ekun is expected to succeed him.
The NJC also recommended 28 candidates for appointment as judges of state courts and a candidate for appointment as Kadi of the Sharia Court of the FCT, Abuja to their various governors and President Tinubu.
Others nominate are six judges, high court of Kwara State: including Olawoyin, Ibijoke Olabisi, Abdulrazaq, Fatimah Funsho, Folorunsho, Oba Muritala, Dikko, Yusuf Adebayo, Adeniyi, Oluwatosin Adenike and Osuolale-Ajayi, Temitope Olalekan.
Zubairu, Murtala Ja’afaru was recommended as High Court Judge of Kaduna State.
The four Judges nominated for High Court of Benue State are Kor Vincent Tersoo, Ikwulono, Maigida Maimuna, Adagba, Nguhemen Julie and Damian Tersugh.
Onche, Ogah Inalegwu and Igba, Theophilus Terhile were recommended for Judges, Customary Court of Appeal, Benue State.
The eight High Court Judges of Rivers State nominated are; Onyiri, FrankUgoji, Victor Chinedum, Obomanu, Godswill Vidal, Oguguo, Rita Chituru, Fubara, Alatuwo Elkanah, Kokpan, Bariyima Sylvester, Obu, Ibietela Innocent Madighi and Wifa-Adedipe, Lesi.
Daomi, Williams Adebisi, Fabuluje, Adewumi William, Ogunwumiju, Mobayonle Idowu, Demehin-Ogunbayo, Inumidun Happiness, Kpemi, Ojufisintei Justinah and Adegoroye, Olufunke Adeola were recommended for Judges, High Court of Ondo State.
Muhammad, Lawal Munir was nominated as Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, FCT Abuja.
