Veteran musician, Onyeka Onwenu reportedly dies at the age of 72.
Onyeka Onwenu reportedly collapsed after performing at the birthday party of Mrs Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
It was reported that she was transported to Reddington Hospital in Lagos but died.
However, her family has yet to acknowledge her death.
Onyeka Onwenu who hails from Arondizuogu, a small town in Ideato North, Imo State, southeastern Nigeria was a singer/songwriter, actress, human rights and social activist, journalist, politician, and former X Factor series judge.
Dubbed the “Elegant Stallion” by the Nigerian press, she was a former chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture. In 2013 she was appointed the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Women Development.
