The federal government has kick started the payment of the 35,000 Naira minimum wage to civil servants.

This wage increase was part of the listed agreement reached by the Labour Union and the federal government in a bid to reduce the harsh impact of fuel subsidy removal.

Some civil servants who pleaded to be anonymous confirmed receipt of the 35,000 Naira increase for November on Tuesday.

This is coming after a two day working strike threat by the Nigerian Labour Congress.
