Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, received a prestigious chieftaincy title from the traditional ruler of Mgbede community in Egbema Kingdom, Rivers State, Nzeobi Amida, on Sunday.

The title, “Ugo Egbema – The Pride of Egbema Kingdom,” was bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding performance during the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, as reported by a Nigerian sports website, BSN.

Amuda, who also serves as the chairman of ONELGA Council of Chiefs, emphasized that Nwabali’s title signifies the honor he brought to Egbema Kingdom and ONELGA through his remarkable contributions to the Super Eagles.

In addition to the chieftaincy title, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, presented Nwabali with a generous gift of N20 million and bestowed upon him the honor of Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State on Friday.

Furthermore, President Bola Tinubu honored every player and official of the Nigerian Super Eagles with the Member of the Order of the Niger national award for their achievement in securing the silver medal at the recently concluded AFCON, as announced on Tuesday.
