Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, known popularly as Rema, will be performing at this year’s BRIT Awards, the most prestigious music awards ceremony in the UK.
The organizers announced and confirmed this on their social media pages on Thursday.
BRIT Awards wrote via X;“Stay calm, @heisrema will be performing at the #BRITs 2024. “let’s gooooooo,”
Rema will be the second Nigerian artist to perform at the Brit Awards. Burna Boy performed at the 2018 award ceremony.
At the 2024 Brit Awards, Burna Boy and Asake were nominated in the star-studded International Artist of the Year category, while Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ received a nomination in the highly coveted International Song of the Year category.
Dua Lipa was the first artist confirmed to perform at the ceremony on January 24th. On January 30, Raye was revealed as the second performer. Also on February 12th, Kylie Minogue was announced as the recipient of the 2024 Global Icon Award and revealed to be performing at the ceremony.
The BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard will take place on Saturday 2nd March, continuing its primetime slot on ITV1 and ITVX, live from The O2 arena, following the huge success of the 2023 show moving to the weekend for the first time in BRITs history.
The record breaking Chinese Award winner has also performed at the 2023 Ballon D’or Awards which took place took place on Monday, 30 October 2023 inside the Théâtre du Châtelet.
