Nigerian skit maker and activist, Mr Macaroni reacts to a video showing Davido’s helper, Lati, brutally punching fans who sought to approach the singer.
In a viral video, Davido is seen walking with his crew members while a fan attempts to get closer to grab a photo but gets smacked by Lati. Another video showed Lati slapping a man who approached the artist for a handshake.
Mr. Macaroni criticized the incident as demeaning. He contended that it was unnecessary to assault fans who only wanted to take photos with their favorite musician.
Furthermore, Mr Macaroni recommended followers obtain permission before attempting to photograph celebrities. He underlined the necessity of mutual respect in fan relationships.
He wrote: “This is sad and highly condemnable!!! There is no need for this assault. This is dehumanizing and I speak against it because I know exactly how this feels.
The change that we all seek must begin with us!!!”.
“Please, if you must take pictures with any of your favorite celebrities, kindly seek permission so that you are not seen as a threat. Respect is reciprocal.
We must respect the privacy of our celebrities and Celebrities must also learn to treat our fans with respect and dignity”.
