Nigerian singer and self-acclaimed African giant has made history by becoming the first Nigerian artiste to perform live at the award mainstage.

Despite missing all four nominations, Burna Boy shone brightly at the 66th Grammy Awards, when he delivered an electrifying performance.

Burna Boy performed a mix of songs from his latest album, ‘I Told Them’, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

He was later joined on stage by Brandy, the iconic singer, and 21 Savage, the rapper.

Burna Boy previously played at the Grammy Award Premiere Ceremony in 2021, where he received his first and only Grammy. But this is his first appearance at the main event.

Burna Boy lost the Best Global Music Performance award to ‘Pashto’ by Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, and Zakir Hussain; Best Global Music Album to Shakti’s ‘This Moment’; Best Melodic Rap Performance to Lil Durk’s ‘All My Life’; and Best African Music Performance to Tyla’s ‘Water.’

Burna Boy has received 10 Grammy nominations but has only won one.

The Nigerian artist was joined on stage by Brandy, a renowned pop vocalist, and American rapper 21 Savage. PBrandy joined Burna Boy to perform his song Last Last, while 21 Savage came through for his part in “Sittin’ On Top Of The World.”
