Nigerian singer, Davido has shown sympathy and support for fellow musician Rema following the latter’s announcement that he will be taking a medical leave of absence.
Following an incredible O2 show, Rema sent an emotional message on social media announcing his decision to take a break from performing for the remainder of December.
He acknowledged that he had neglected his health while on the road for years and that he planned to recover until 2024.
Davido responded to Rema’s declaration by highlighting the difficulties and mental and physical toll that being an artist can have.
Rema, whom he addressed as his junior colleague, was praised by him for making Africa and the globe proud with his electric songs and performances.
Rema received Davido’s support and his advice to put self-care first and take the time needed to recover.
In a comment on Rema’s post, Davido wrote;
“The job ain’t easy… You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations… get some rest King @heisrema come back stronger.”
Fans were not unaffected by the gesture, as they showered the comment area with appreciation for Davido’s generosity and support of Rema.
