Veteran comedian, Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has decided to give up comedy for five years.
Basketmouth stated that he would be leaving comedy when he was 50 in order to start his own business and work in all facets of show business.
In an interview with Arise TV, the 45-year-old revealed that he intends to retire after performing in yearly comedy performances for the next five years.
He claimed that even though he initially abandoned his music career to focus on comedy in the 1990s, he had always known he would go back to it.
He said: “In five years, I will be 50 years old. I would have moved on to something else that would take up a lot of my time. I wish to put my all into it.
“I am confident that I will be able to combine all of my interests and completely enjoy films, TV shows, and concerts. Doing all of these things and still giving comedy your best will be difficult,”
