An Appeal Court sitting in Lagos State has authenticated Sim Fubara as the duly elected Governor of Rivers State.

The court threw out the appeal filed against the Governor and INEC by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Patrick Tonye-Cole.

Tonye Cole’s plea was that the court declare him the duly elected governor of Rivers State, hinging on the grounds that Fubara did not resign his position in the state civil service after his nomination by PDP.

The State Tribunal had initially dismissed the case, however, Tonye Cole approached the appeal court to upturn the judgment, but today, Nov 28, the appellate Court has upheld the verdict of the tribunal.
