Minister of the Federal Capital Territory seems to have clenched the leadership structure of APC In Rivers State as his loyalist have been inaugurated as new leaders of the party.
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi was leader of the APC of Rivers State until the recent power turn.
The new power dynamics of politics in the state may be moving against Ameachi as the new Caretaker chairman of the party in the state is now Chief Tony Okocha, one of Wike’s loyalists.
However, Okocha had one time been Chief of Staff to Ameachi whom he later cut ties with to pitch a tent with Wike.
Meanwhile, Okocha has also included some of Ameachi’s loyalists in the new party structure in a bid ti pacify his estranged boss.
Some of them are Eric Nwibani, the secretary of the committee, Chibuike Ikenga, a former caretaker chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area (Ameachi’s LGA)
The former Minister is yet to speak on the new developments, but rumor has it they the move is to further give leverage to Wike in the State Structure.
There are speculations that the FCT Minister may defect to the APC in no distant time.
