The Court of Appeal in Abuja has thrown out the appeal seeking to challenge the victory of Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed.

While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Mohammed winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) AVM Sadique Abubakar (rtd), had filed a petition challenging the decision.

The tribunal had however further affirmed Mohammed’s victory but the candidate of the APC had proceeded to the appellate court.

A three-member panel has on Friday dismissed his appeal for lack for merit.

IJustice Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa who read the judgment ruled that Abubakar and the APC did not prove any wrongdoing or electoral malpractice by Bala Mohammed according to the Electoral Act, 2022.
