The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has reversed the victory of Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, by declaring the elections inconclusive.

Spotting some electoral discrepancies, the court has ordered a rerun of elections in three Local Government Areas (LGAs), namely Maradun, Birnin-Magaji, and Bukyun.

Kano Tribunal: Appeal Court fixed date for Judgment on Kabir vs Gawuno
This is coming after the appeal was filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), and its candidate, Bello Mattawalle.

In its judgment, the Court of Appeal faulted the judgement of the petition tribunal, adding that the tribunal has failed to review evidence rendered by the APC.

The court also in the same vein rejected results present by the APC from Maradun Local Government.

Justice Sybil Nwaka, while delivering the verdict also said it was wrong for INEC to rely on just results from its iREV portal to collate results.

Former Governor of the State. Bello Matawalle, also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC had filed the appeal.
