Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dino Melaye has broken his silence after his defeat at the just concluded Kogi State Guber polls.

The former spokesman to Atiku alleged that his third place position in the election was a preconceived thought by his political rivals.

According to Sen. Dino, Nov. 11 wasn’t an election but an “allocation of votes”

Recall that Usman Ododo of the APC won with 446,237 votes, against his highest scoring opponent, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, who scored 259,052, while Dino came a distant third with  46,362 votes.

The former Kogi west Senator who made an appearance in a TV Interview had this to say:

“A meeting was held and they said, ‘Dino Melaye must not come second because if he comes second, it’s dangerous… so, he must become a distant third.’ There was no election; there was only allocation of votes,”

He also alleged that votes were allocated to his rival, Ajaka, in the Kogi East senatorial district.

When asked about his inability to vote on Election Day, he had this to say:

“The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status. People win elections in prison. Legally, it has no relevance to the election. Whether I voted or not, it is immaterial.”
