The victory was confirmed across all 27 local governments, as results were unveiled at the INEC collation center in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

Governor Hope Uzodinma secured triumph over his opponents in a hotly contested race, facing allegations of fraud from the candidates of the PDP and LP, who are calling for the total cancellation of the election, according to Daily Post.

The official results indicate Uzodinma’s win with 540,308 votes, capping a keenly watched electoral process in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, garnered 71,508 votes, while Athan Achonu of the Labour Party scored 71,508 votes.

According to INEC, a total of 2,419,922 registered voters in the state for the poll, with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.

At the culmination of the collation at 08:30 am on Sunday, Fashina announced the winner.
