A Yaba Magistrate Court in Lagos State granted singer Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, bail in the sum of N20 million with three responsible sureties.
Recall that they were arrested on their return to Nigeria after they were linked to the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
This occurred following social media videos that appeared to show Sam Larry violently abusing Mobad and other videos featuring boys who appeared to be acting on Naira Marley’s orders attacking the late musician.
The Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered that their international passports be returned to them as part of their bail conditions.
The magistrate further ordered them to attend monthly at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The magistrate in charge of the case issued a special warning, stating that any attempts to contact her would be logged and potentially published in open court sessions.
Olatunbosun said: “As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,”
