President Bola Tinubu has approved N81B as funds for group life assurance benefits for fallen soldiers and service of the Nigerian armed forces.

President announced the approval at the Launch of the Emblem Appeal for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.
ln his words:
“I have approved the sum of N18bn for the payment of the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in line of duty,” Tinubu said

The president opined that this was a length to show the commitment placed on the welfare of servicemen and women in Nigeria by his administration.
Tinubu in his remark also stated that the nation was in debt to the great men and women of the armed forces who have protected Nigeria and Nigerians.

According to him, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops, who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation.”
