The Kano State Gubernatorial Election Tribunal has ruled in favour of the Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) and sacked incumbent Governor of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

This is coming after the Nasir Gawuno of the APC and it’s candidate, approached the court, to challenge the victory of Abba Yusuf of the NNPP.

According to the The Kano Gubernatorial Election Tribunal, petitions of the APC were found to hold water after thorough examination.

On Wednesday, the three-man panel ordered withdrawal of certificate of return which INEC presented to Governor Yusuf and directed a certificate of return to be issued to Gawuna.

The court deducted 165,663 votes from Gov Yusuf total as invalid votes, stating that the ballot papers (165,663) were not stamped or signed and therefore declared invalid.
