An online petition has emerged against Sam Larry, an aide to Naira Marley, filed by the late singer with the Nigerian police in June 2023.
Mohbad lodged the petition after being harassed and assaulted during a video shoot with Zlatan Ibile.
In a screenshot of the petition shared by Samklef, he expressed frustration over the failure of the Nigerian police system.
“The police in Nigeria is a failed system! Late Mohbad, in June, filed a petition to the Nigerian Police Force seeking protection for his life and properties. Pls tag all the police handles the evil Nigeria must come to an end.”
Prior to this, a video showing Mohbad being harassed by Sam Larry had circulated online.
The video depicted Mohbad shooting a music video with Zlatan in a wheelchair, when Sam Larry barged onto the set armed with a machete and other weapons.
After the video went viral, many people flooded Sam Larry’s Instagram page, demanding an explanation for the brutality.
In response, Larry initially restricted his comment section and later deactivated his page.
Mohbad was signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records” but left the label in 2022.
In an Instagram live session following his release from NDLEA’s camp, Mohbad alleged that Naira Marley and other group members were out to harm him.
He believed that Naira Marley and Marlian Music would play a role in his demise, urging his fans to hold the label boss accountable for his death.
The singer and rapper also shared clips of an alleged assault by Naira Marley’s crew, after he expressed his desire to change his manager.
However, Naira Marley dismissed his accusations, claiming that Mohbad was lying and making false accusations against him.
In response, Mohbad expressed hope that justice would eventually be served.
Bella Shmurda, Mohbad’s friend and colleague, confirmed in an interview that Naira Marley had threatened Mohbad’s life.
