The All Progressives Congress, APC has refuted rumors reporting that it enlisted former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike as a member of the forthcoming Bayelsa State Governorship election campaign council.

Wike who is still a member of the People’s Democratic Party but a Minister under the APC led administration seems to be the “wiz kid” of Nigerian politics.

However, the APC via its official Twitter handle refuted the rumors.

Recall that the PDP had also recently named Wike as a member of the Governorship campaign council in the forthcoming elections in the state.
It is quite unclear which Party the ex governor of Rivers State will be working for, but it seems there is some sort of confusion rocking the PDP as regards Wike’s loyalty.
While the erstwhile party leader had worked for the victory of Tinubu in Rivers State during the presidential elections.
Wike also worked for the victory of his successor in the state’s governorship election.

The Governor while briefing media men at his inaugural press conference at the Ministry after his inauguration also disclosed that he consulted the PDP before accepting the appointment by the president.
As at the time of this report, Wike had not made any public reaction to both publications.
