Nigerian Afrobeat singer and Grammy award winner, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun has lost his mother to the cold hands of death.
The mother of three, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun died at around 1.30 am, Friday.
Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday, saying; “Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am.” However the cause of death was undisclosed.
Fans have been trooping to social media platforms to extend their condolences to the singer and his family since the news broke out on the internet.
Mrs. Balogun, who frequently cheered on her son from the sidelines during performances and events, was a pillar of support for his burgeoning career.
She was not just there as a mother, but also as a sign of her unfailing support for her son’s musical endeavours.
Wizkid has not yet released a remark in the media about the defeat.
Additionally, the cause of the death has not yet been made public as of the time of this article.
