President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared there will be no more uprise in Petroleum products in the country henceforth.

This is coming from the stables of the Nigerian Television Authority, who made the announcement via their official Twitter handle.

The tweet read:

“The presidency says there is no increase in petroleum product prices at this time as the President is convinced based on the information before him that, Nigeria can maintain current pricing without reversing our deregulation policy by swiftly cleaning up existing inefficiencies within the midstream and downstream Petroleum sector.”

Naira metrics in a similar report, opined  that the decision of the president is geared towards maintaining economic stability by sticking a balance between the good of Nigerians and the realities of the petroleum market.

However,  some reports indicating the President’s intention to reintroduce the fuel subsidy for a temporary period hit the airwaves today, 15th August 2023.
