Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has asked Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to tender his resignation.

The former APC stalwart cum Atiku supporter has asked the president of the 10th Senate to resign owing to the viral video which had the senate president reveal that senators received “holiday money”

In a video posted by Reno Omokri  via his Twitter handle,

Timi called out Akpabio over his actions which he described as insensitive, saying the legislature is enjoying monies meant for the poor.

Speaking further, Timi Frank described the statement of Akpabio as a “show of fame” and asked the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ask Akpabio to resign.

In his words:

“I call on the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tell Akpabio to resign, this is the time for he the president to end this show of shame and national embarrassment”

He also added that:

“Nigerians have suffered too much in recent times, we did not vote for our senators to come and take money from the poor to go on a vacation”

Timi while speaking expressed his utter disappointment over idea of sharing money for vacation to lawmakers amidst the cruel hardship Nigerians are experiencing.

Recall that the president of the senate had made a rather controversial revelation in the floor of the senate when he said:

“In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly,”

The statement by the senate President has since erupted tons of reactions from Nigerians on social media and blog sites.
