Adedeji Adeleke, the father of famous music artiste Davido, has announced intentions to build Nigeria’s largest power plant, Cyber Reporters report.

Adeleke claimed during the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference Annual Council that his existing power plant accounts for approximately 15% of Nigeria’s electricity production.

Adeleke’s enterprise already makes a substantial contribution to the country’s power supply.

He stated that he is working with Chinese engineering companies to finish the new power plant, which is expected to be operational by January.

He stated the 1,250MW power facility would be Nigeria’s largest thermal power plant, poised to significantly boost the country’s power supply and energy independence.

“In Nigeria, I am in the electricity business; I own a power plant, and presently, I generate about 15% of the electricity needs for Nigeria. I have Chinese Engineering companies that work.

” I am building and almost completed in January by the grace of God my new power plant to be the biggest power plant in Nigeria. It is a 1,250MW power plant to become operational in January,” he said in part.

Deji Adeleke is a Nigerian businessman and president of Adeleke University. He is also the CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited. He was married to Dr Vero Adeleke who died on 6 March 2003. His younger brother Ademola Adeleke is the governor of Osun State.

Earlier in 1996, he established a not-for-profit Non-governmental organization called Springtime Development Foundation (SDF) to sponsor the poor and downtrodden citizens of Nigeria through higher education.
