Alex Ferguson’s illustrious decade-long tenure as Manchester United’s ambassador will conclude at the end of the season.

The decision, part of the club’s cost-cutting measures, marks a significant shift following Jim Ratcliffe’s minority stake acquisition in February.

Ferguson, 82, has been an integral figure at Old Trafford since his 2013 retirement as manager.

During his ambassadorial role, Ferguson has represented the club globally, leveraging his legendary status.

Sources describe the separation as “amicable” and “mutually beneficial,” ensuring Ferguson remains welcome at Old Trafford.

Under Ferguson’s 27-year managerial reign, Manchester United won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues.

Ferguson’s legacy continues to shape Manchester United’s identity, despite stepping down from his ambassadorial duties.
