Tragedy struck the family of Ahmed Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State, as his son Faisal lost his life in a devastating road accident on Saturday.

The accident occurred along the Kaduna-Zaria highway in the evening while Faisal was traveling.

Reports say a family source revealed that Faisal was rushed to a hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.

According to the source, his father Ahmed Makarfi was present at the hospital, adding that arrangements are now being made for Faisal’s burial.

Faisal was a talented civil engineer, having studied at prestigious institutions.

The institutions include Kaduna International School, Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State, and the University of Greenwich in London, where he earned his undergraduate and Master’s degrees.

At the time of his passing, Faisal was pursuing his PhD at Greenwich University.

Ahmed Makarfi, Faisal’s father, is a renowned Nigerian politician who served as Governor of Kaduna State from 1999 to 2007 and later became a Senator representing Kaduna North senatorial district.
