Federal High Court in Abuja has granted a modification in bail to five #EndBadGovernance protesters, Cyber Reporters reports.

Recall that the court had previously denied each of the ten protestors from the #endbadgovernance# movement N10 million in bail after they were accused of trying to topple President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Nevertheless, because the demonstrators were unable to fulfill their bail requirements, Justice Emeka Nwite lowered the amount from N10 million to N5 million apiece in his order on Monday.

Some of the demonstrators were unable to obtain sureties with landed property in Abuja, according to the first, second, and fourth defendants’ attorneys, who testified in court.

The demonstrators also requested a modification of their bail, and the judge granted it, lowering their requirements to N5 million apiece.

One surety in like kind, who must be a close relative of the accused, is another need of the recently established criteria by the court.

In particular, he said, the sureties had to be a parent or parent figure or another blood relative living in the jurisdiction if neither parent could be reached.

Six allegations against the demonstrators include treason, inciting mutiny, conspiring to conduct a criminal, and trying to wreak chaos in Nigeria.
