Adeboye Apologizes for Saying Tithing is a Ticket to Heaven

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye has issued an apology for his previous statement that Christians who do not pay tithe may not make it to heaven.

In a recent address to his congregation, captured in a viral video, Adeboye retracted his earlier claim, labeling it a “mistake.” He emphasized that the Bible does not support such a notion.

Instead, Adeboye cited Hebrews 12:14, which states, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.”

The pastor stressed that peaceful and holy living are the essential prerequisites for entering heaven.

Adeboye’s apology clarifies his stance, aligning with biblical teachings that prioritize spiritual growth and righteous living over material obligations like tithing.

He said: “I apologize for saying ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.”
