Former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has slammed National Assembly’s probe into Bobrisky-VeryDarkMan saga as misdirected priorities.

Ahmad expressed his disappointment over the National Assembly’s decision to investigate the drama between th social media influencers.

He believes that Nigeria has more pressing issues that require attention, and this saga does not hold national importance.

Posting on X, Ahmad wrote:

“Forming a National Assembly committee to investigate the VDM and Bobrisky saga is completely unnecessary.

“Nigeria is currently grappling with far more pressing challenges, and this issue holds no real national importance, at all.”

The controversy started when VeryDarkMan released an audio clip of Bobrisky claiming to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.

Bobrisky could be heard also be heard boasting about his ‘godfather’ helping him avoid a six-month jail term in Kirikiri ppriso.

As a result, the House of Representatives launched an investigative hearing, with VeryDarkMan attending and Bobrisky sending his lawyer.

However, both the EFCC and Nigeria Correctional Service denied any wrongdoing during the hearing.

Recall Bobrisky was convicted in April for abusing Naira notes and was arraigned on a four-count charge.
