President Bola Tinubu has formally inaugurated Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.

Kekere-Ekun was sworn in as the new CJN in a ceremony held at the Aso Rock Villa’s Council Chambers.

This milestone follows the Senate’s confirmation of her nomination last week.

Justice Kekere-Ekun makes history as the only second woman to occupy this esteemed position, bringing a wealth of experience from her tenure as acting CJN since August.

Her appointment heralds a new era in Nigeria’s judicial system, building on the legacy of her predecessor, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

As the nation’s highest judicial officer, Justice Kekere-Ekun’s leadership will shape the country’s legal landscape.

With her swearing-in, Justice Kekere-Ekun assumes the responsibility of upholding the Constitution and ensuring the impartial administration of justice.

Her tenure is expected to strengthen the judiciary’s independence and foster public trust.
