Chelsea have zeroed in on 25-year-old Victor Osimhen as their primary striker target, but talks have hit a snag due to a significant gap in personal terms.

The Nigerian star is demanding wages of around £275,000 per week, but Chelsea are holding firm at a maximum offer of £150,000, creating a deadlock in negotiations.

As the Premier League club struggles to meet Osimhen’s demands, Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli has swooped in with a lucrative offer that is difficult to ignore.

Eye Football reports that The Saudi club has submitted a formal bid of £62 million to Napoli and is willing to hand Osimhen an eye-watering salary of £500,000 per week.

Additionally, Al Ahli has accepted the striker’s request for a release clause, making the move increasingly likely.

The prospect of losing out on Osimhen is a massive blow to Chelsea, who have been in constant talks with the player’s agent, trying to finalize an agreement.

Despite their best efforts over the past few weeks, Osimhen remains reluctant to accept a lower wage, with the Saudi offer now looming large. If the deal with Al Ahli goes through, Chelsea will be left scrambling to find an alternative, marking a major setback in their summer transfer plans.
