Amidst the controversies surrounding the Edo State Gubernatorial primaries of the People’s Democratic Party, the party has present a certificate of return to a factional winner, Asue Ighodalo.
The Certificate of return was presented to him in the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, today, 27 February 2024.
This is coming after the deputy Governor of the state, Cmr. Philip Shaibu also announced himself as the flag bearer of the party.
Shaibu who had recently accused the Governor of the state of trying to impose his personal candidate on the people also hinted that Ighodalo was the anointed candidate of Obaseki.
Citing some irregularities, Shaibu believes the factional primary elections conducted by the governor and other PDP governors like Dauda Lawal would not stand as he may be seeking redress in court.
