Documents revealed how Lagos State Govt approved N152 to restore water in Oba’s palace

New Financial documents reveal how Lagos State Government approved some funds for controversial provisions days to the Presidential and Governorship elections.

Fresh documents released by the Public Procurement awards by the state government in 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2023.

It revealed that the State Government approved the sum of N24.5 million for the renovation of the official residence of the State Commissioner of Police.

 

Shocking evidence show Omay Engineering Services Ltd, the company awarded the contract got the approval on February 6, 2023 just some weeks to the Governoship election.

Aside the money spent on renovation, the state Ministry of Justice paid N200 million to four senior lawyers to represent Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat in pre-election matters.

Other controversial payments include the release of 20.8 million for the decoration of the state party’s congress (APC)

The money was however approved on June 16, months after the elections.

Another approval that has got tongues wagging was the N152 million approval for the restoration of water supply at Iduganran palace, the official residence of the Oba of Lagos.

Tons of Nigerians have hit social media to express their displeasure over the details of expenditure.
