Presidency Congratulates Ododo on victory

The Presidency has congratulated Usman Ododo, after his emergence as governor-elect of Kogi State.

Ododo, who was the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won against his major opponents, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party.

“Going to Court is a waste of time”- Kogi SDP candidate

Johnson Urama, returning officer of The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ododo winner of the polls after meeting the requirements.

In his words:

Ahmed Usman Ododo of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,”

With a whooping 446,237 votes, Ododo won against his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052.

Reacting, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga relayed the congratulatory message via a tweet, he posted:

Congrats to APC candidate Usman Ododo for “winning the  Kogi governorship election. He beats the closest rival, SDP Candidate Muri Ajaka  by over 187,000 votes. The final scores of all the candidates below:

A – 1,254, AA – 1,440, AAC – 424

ADC – 21,819, ADP – 1064, APC – 446,237, APGA – 469, APM – 130, APP – 1,135, BP – 82, LP – 567, NNPP – 136

NRM – 242, PDP – 46,362, PRP – 781, SDP – 259,052

YPP – 868, ZLP – 227

TOTAL VALID VOTES: 782,289

REJECTED VOTES: 9,601

TOTAL VOTES CAST: 791,890”
