Former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima to tender their resignations.

According to him, both the president and his vice should step down and allow the conduct of a fresh election by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Baba-Ahmed who appeared on a political show on Arise News made this assertion while fielding questions of a possible working relationship with the President in future.

However, the Peter Obi running mate insists that his party and his principal won the election and that Tinubu was “fraudulently” sworn in as president and as such would never work with or for a government he described as “illegitimate”

In his words:

“Can Tinubu and Shettima just resign and let the Senate President conduct another election? They were fraudulently sworn in, and we will not work with an illegitimate government. If it is not constitutional, we are not touching it.”

This is coming after a world press conference was held yesterday by Peter Obi, former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, where he berated the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Supreme Court for their incompetence.
