Talent manager Teebillz, who previously defended Nigerian musician Naira Marley and Zinoleesky on social media, has apologised for his provocative remarks in the aftermath of an internet backlash.
Teebillz, Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband and former manager, had initially criticised cancel culture and begged Nigerians to forgive Naira Marley, who had allegedly antagonised Mohbad previous to the latter’s death.
Teebillz’s defence of Naira Marley and Zinoleesky infuriated many Nigerians, who resorted to social media to voice their displeasure.
However, it appears that the talent manager has changed his mind in response to the public reaction.
Teebillz recently issued an apology on his social media platforms, acknowledging the insensitivity of his previous comments.
He apologised for any offence caused and stated that he did not want to hurt anyone’s feelings or ideas.
Instead, he expressed his intention to assist and support the young artists, emphasising the importance of mental health in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
He wrote: “I’m sincerely sorry for the insensitivity of my earlier post! I don’t mean to undermine anyone’s feelings or opinion… I just rather be of help to this young man than judging him based on association alongside being a product of his environment!!! MENTAL HEALTH played a major role in MOHBAD’s last days whether you agree with me or not! ZINO is definitely feeling the impact too mentally now!!! My heart also goes out to SOLID STAR’
