Hundreds of young people have gathered in various states in the country to demonstrate against the passing of Nigerian artist Promise Oladimeji Aloba (also known as MohBad-Imole).

The purpose of the demonstration, which included chants and demands for justice, was to raise awareness of the circumstances behind Mohbad’s death and demand redress.

As the demonstration moved through, its momentum swelled and more young people joined the cause. In addition to the physical rally, protesters used a number of social media sites, using hashtags like #JusticeForMohBad, to emphasise their complaints.

Lists of state where the protests for justice is taking place is Lagos, Ogun, Delta and Ondo.

His untimely death shocked the nation, leaving fans and fellow performers inconsolable, and many people believe foul play was involved in the events leading up to his passing.

Yemi Afolabi, one of the demonstrators, claimed that Mohbad was a budding artist whose beacon was put out of commission when he was just starting out.

The demonstrators demanded that the investigation into Mohbad’s killing be completed quickly and that those responsible be brought to justice.

They underlined the necessity for an open, unbiased investigation that is free from improper influence or deception.
