Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy has made history by being the first African to have two songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the same calendar year.
After spending weeks on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, his single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ eventually debuted at No. 80 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Following the release of Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them,’ which increased sales and streams of the lead track, ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World,’ the song entered the main chart.
Burnaboy’s ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ debuts at No. 80 on this week’s Hot 100,” Billboard announced via its X page on Tuesday.
Recall that Burna Boy’s ‘Talibans II’ with Byron Messia debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July this year.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them,’ debuted at N0. 31 on the U.S Billboard 200 albums chart.
