Nigeria forward, Peter Olayinka, has terminated his contract with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade.
According to Red Star Belgrade, Olayinka requested to leave the club.
In a statement released on the club’s official website, Red Star said: “Red Star Football Club informs the public that it has mutually terminated cooperation with Peter Olayinka with mutual understanding and appreciation.”
The club added that Olayinka had expressed his desire to pursue a new challenge in his career, while they appreciated his professionalism and contribution during his time in Belgrade.
“Crvena zvezda thanks Olayinka for everything he has done in the red and white jersey and wishes him success, health, and happiness in the future,” the statement concluded.
The 29-year-old linked up with the Red and Whites from Czech club, Slavia Prague, in 2023.
The versatile striker has, however, struggled for regular playing time since his arrival at the club.
Olayinka scored 14 goals in 46 league appearances for Slavia Prague.
He is now free to join a new club.
