According to Calciomercato, the West London club have reignited their interest in Chukwueze after being previously linked with the winger during the January transfer window. With Marco Silva keen to bolster his attacking options, the Super Eagles star has emerged as a leading candidate to bring flair and firepower to Craven Cottage.

A Talent in Search of Revival

At 26, Chukwueze is entering a crucial phase of his career. After rising to prominence with Villarreal in La Liga, where he was widely regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers , he made the switch to AC Milan in the summer of 2023. But life in Serie A hasn’t gone according to plan.

Since arriving at the San Siro, Chukwueze has struggled to replicate his Spanish form, notching eight goals and six assists in 69 appearances across all competitions. Despite flashes of brilliance, he has often found himself on the fringes of the Rossoneri’s starting XI.

Now, with Milan reportedly open to offers and willing to sell for a fee between €15 million and €20 million, Chukwueze could be poised for a new challenge and the Premier League may be the perfect stage for a resurgence.

From U-17 Prodigy to National Team Mainstay

Chukwueze’s journey is well known to Nigerian fans. A standout performer in the Golden Eaglets’ 2015 U-17 World Cup-winning squad, he has since cemented his place in the Super Eagles senior team, earning praise for his pace, close control, and ability to take on defenders.

For Fulham, who are seeking depth and dynamism out wide, Chukwueze offers a mix of experience and upside. His ability to stretch defences and create in transition aligns well with Marco Silva’s tactical style.

A Potential Perfect Fit at the Cottage

While nothing is confirmed yet, Fulham’s pursuit of Chukwueze signals their intent to continue evolving. Should Traoré depart, the Cottagers would need a ready-made replacement who can handle the intensity of the Premier League, and Chukwueze, with his international pedigree and top-flight experience in Spain and Italy, checks many of those boxes.

The move could also benefit the player himself. A fresh start in England might provide Chukwueze the platform to rediscover the explosive form that once made him one of Europe’s hottest young prospects.

As transfer talks continue to heat up, Fulham fans will be watching closely. Could Craven Cottage soon welcome a Super Eagles ready to soar again?
