English Football Club, Arsenal have confirmed that Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season due to a significant hamstring injury. Havertz discovered the problem while the squad was conducting warm weather training in Dubai, UAE.
“Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days,” an official statement on Thursday added.
Kai will begin his recuperation and rehabilitation program shortly after surgery, which is scheduled to include pre-season preparations for the next season.”
This means that Mikel Arteta will be without a recognised striker for the remaining 14 Premier League games.
Gabriel Jesus has already been sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in their FA Cup loss to Manchester United.
Arsenal are trying to cut the seven-point gap on leaders Liverpool and go to the Champions League round of 16. The team failed to sign a striker during the January transfer window and had a late bid for Ollie Watkins rejected by Aston Villa.
